Introduction

October has been full of good vibes, and I honestly can’t help but want to write it all down. From little cozy moments to random things that made me smile, I’ve been noticing a lot of stuff that’s been sparking joy. So, just like last month, I’m rounding up all the things I’ve been loving lately. Whether it’s a song, a snack, an app, or just a feeling that’s been making my days a little brighter.

Things I've been loving

Web page offering September wallpapers for download, featuring four desktop preview images with muted tones and the word "sept" visible.

I found this desktop wallpaper on Pinterest, and ever since, I have been coming back every month to download the new wallpaper. They are always so cute and so trendy. My favorites are the Snoopy-inspired ones. If you know me or read my "love for fall" post, you know how much I love Snoopy.

Cartoon dog with headphones enjoys music beside a tape player. Bookshelves in the background. "Sept" and calendar text visible.

Sade's music

I don't know if it's because fall is here or because Sade is a phenomenal singer (probably the latter), but I have been obsessed with her music. My current favorite song is Paradise. Everything about her music is chef's kiss 😙🤌.

Patchwork shirts

White tank top with two blue stars rests on a patterned, blue and white blanket. The stars feature stitching details. Cozy and serene setting.

Recently, I made a patchwork shirt, and it was one of the funnest projects I've done. I finished it in about 2 days. It was easy, and I didn't even have to watch a video to do it.

little mood board with it. On top of that, I already had all I needed, so I didn't have to buy anything!! It was such a great way to calm my mind that after I finished it, I was a little upset because I didn't get to do it again and calm my mind.

If you wanted to try this for yourself, I recommend going on Pinterest and searching up "patchwork shirt inspo" to get an idea of what you would like to do.

Quick side note: I HIGHLY discourage buying this type of shirt from any brand. The idea of this shirt is to use what you have and upcycle your clothes to reduce waste. I love Aeropostale, but I was disappointed when I saw these sweatpants. I love the brand, and I love the Demetra collab, but I just couldn't get behind this.

Why Creating is Better Than Consuming

Making that patchwork shirt was such a reminder of why I love DIY projects so much. In a month like October, where everything feels so "curated" online, actually sitting down and sewing something with my hands felt really grounding. It wasn't about making something perfect (I didn't even watch a tutorial), it was just about the process of upcycling something old into something new

I think we spend so much time looking at what other people are making on Pinterest that we forget to just try it ourselves. This project cost me zero dollars and only took a couple of days, but the satisfaction I got from it was way better than anything I could have bought from a fast-fashion brand. It’s made me want to look at my whole wardrobe differently and see what else I can "save" instead of replace. October is all about that cozy, creative energy, and I’m trying to carry that feeling into my schoolwork and my blog too.

Aesthetic of the month

October is arguably the best month. But I won't get into too much detail because I already wrote all about it!

Wrap-Up

Altogether, these little things have made October feel cozy, creative, and just… a little brighter. I love noticing the small joys that make my days better, and this month definitely reminded me of that. I hope you found something new to love too, and I can’t wait to share more next month! Who knows what November will bring?
