Introduction
August is such a weird month. It's still summer, but you can feel the shift coming, like the air is getting ready to say something. For me, this August has been full of little discoveries, things I stumbled across on the internet, shows I couldn't stop watching, and quotes that made me stop scrolling and actually think. So here's my roundup of everything that's been living in my head rent-free this month.
Things I've been loving

Sterling Point
Sterling Point is a young adult, coming-of-age drama television series created by Megan Park that premiered on August 5, 2026, on Amazon Prime Video. I binged this show in 24 hours. I immediately fell in love with it, so much so that I ended up writing a post about how watching good love on screen made me realize how much I want it for myself. This show is similar to Summer I Turned Pretty, except it's not cringey, the boys are actual good people, and it's set on an island, not a beach.

There are friendships that serve as bridges rather than destinations ... Once that crossing is complete, the bridge has fulfilled its purpose.
I think that the hard & sad parts of friendships are something we don't talk about enough. Going through a friendship breakup is a lonely experience. And I think that part of the sadness and grief that comes from a friendship breakup is a disappointment of your expectations. And I think this quote helps us reframe that.
Friendships can be as impactful, if not more, than romantic relationships. And the impact stays with us, constantly reminding us of a connection in the past.

August always feels like the last page of a chapter, and this one was a good one. Between the things I watched, read, and thought about, this month quietly gave me a lot to hold onto.
