My Summer Book TBR: Book List, Current Progress, and Plan

Updated: Jul 31, 2024

Introduction

Summer break is when I have the most time to read. I don't have any schoolwork or extracurricular activities that I need to do, so this is the time that I use the most to read. I am thrilled to share my summer TBR list with you!

TBR stands for "to be read", and it is used to describe your reading list or book list that you plan on reading.

I will be sharing my summer TBR (the list of the books that I set out to read this summer), my progress so far, and my plan to finish reading all the books I have set out to read by the beginning of August.

A complete list of my summer TBR

I decided to diversify my reading and not read strictly books set in the summer. I have sprinkled in other genres, like classics and mystery. I did this to prevent getting bored of reading the same type of book over and over again.

Strategies to Achieve Summer TBR Goal

So far, I have used a few techniques to help me read more books. One method that I have used to help me read more books is to read multiple books at the same time. I find it most helpful if I read three books simultaneously. This helps me because, no matter what mood I am in, one of the books will appeal to me. Usually, my three books are: romance, classic, and mystery.

Another technique I've been utilizing is to read on different platforms. This is similar to the technique I have just described because, where I am, I can still read a book. For example, I will usually have a physical book, a book on my Kindle, and a book on my phone. So when I want to just sit down on the couch and read, I can get my physical book. If I am on the road or waiting in line, I can read on my phone. And then at night, I read on my Kindle.

One final way that I have been using to complete my TBR goal is to read every night. This ensures that even if I do absolutely no reading during the day, I can be guaranteed to have read something by the end of the day. The amount of time I read each night varies, but on average, it's between fifteen and forty-five minutes.

Conclusion

In conclusion, by applying multiple methods such as reading multiple books, reading during spare time, and dedicating time to reading every night, I have been able to make progress towards completing my summer TBR goal. With the end of July approaching, I am excited to share my thoughts on the books I have read and see if I have successfully reached my reading target. Happy Reading!
