My Favorite Websites to Find (Free) Zines Libraries

Updated: Mar 24, 2024

Introduction

Due to the scarcity of resources for zines, I am here once more to facilitate your zine journey. There are many zines out there on the internet; however, it is difficult to find zines that are available to everyone. As a result, today I will talk about my favorite places to read free zines.

Websites to Find Zines

Internet Archive

The Internet Archive is my preferred resource for finding zines. It has over 65 thousand zines uploaded in over 30 languages. If you desire, you can even upload your own zines.

As amazing as this website is, there are a few downsides. This website is not very user-friendly and can be challenging to navigate at times. Also, some content isn’t actually zines but books, guides, or essays. Nevertheless, one way I deal with this issue is to arrange the zines according to the number of views.

Quarantine Zine Club

The Quarantine Zine Club is an online Zine Library where zines submitted during the COVID-19 pandemic are showcased. As of April 2021, the library is no longer accepting submissions. This online library has a select number of zines. However, unlike the Internet Archive, they are all curated and selected, ensuring that they are all of quality and not spam. I have found some amazing zines on this website! Most of the zines on this website have a link to the creator’s PayPal, so you can support them.

Keke Magazine's Zine library

Even though Keke Magazine's Zine Library doesn’t have as many zines as the other two previously mentioned, it is still an amazing zine library. This zine library is very user-friendly and simple to use. The subjects range from healthcare to selfie culture.

The Small Science Collective

The Small Science Collective, as its name suggests, has zines about science. This zine library is very well organized and makes it very easy to find what you want. The zines are separated into eight categories: creatures, insects, evolution, space and physics, ecology, human things, food, and miscellaneous.

Right to Food Zine

My last recommendation for a zine library is the Right to Food Zine. The Right to Food Zine’s mission is to “promote the human right to food that is healthy, nutritious, affordable, and presented with dignity.”. Each issue has amazing artwork and helpful articles regarding food. Unfortunately, the last issue available is from Spring 2022.
