Personal Thoughts

I didn’t think I was going to like this book this much. I think Rachel Lynn Solomon did the perfect balance of a good plot with a slow-burn romance. Usually, I don’t like slow romances, but I think it’s because there’s not a good background story to support it, and then it just gets boring. But this book had an amazing combo of both. It was a little hard for me to get invested in the beginning, but after I did, I was hooked. It was a fun read, and I enjoyed reading it.

Book Rating

★★★☆☆ (3.75/5) stars

I didn’t give it four stars because I don’t think I’ll think about it after a week or two. Also, there were some cringy lines. On top of that, there were these random themes that were thrown in. For example, romance novel stereotypes. I feel like just a slow-burn romance and the plot of the book would be fine. I didn't need this book to be explicitly battling and spelling out to me the stereotypes of romance novel readers. It just seemed like it was doing too much with the added themes.
